Kooriboy Studio is where you can find the visual work of Mick Finn, a proud Yuin man from the South Coast. From commissioned illustration and music videos, to production of magazines and films...The name Koori boy reflects not just his uninitiated status, but also a desire to replicate the 'wow' moments of growing up and finding out about culture and science. As well as a hand-drawn illustration style, the studio films and animates stories to bring them to life.At night, the skies are full of stories and his astrophotography is an attempt to bring the wonder of the stars to the world. While the projected visuals of Kuki Koori performances bring music, culture and psychedelic graphics to the festival screen.

Telling First Nations stories with video and animation

Indiginomics - Economics through an Indigenous lens, was created for the UQ Economic department in collaboration with Jackson Daylight (Quandamooka Nation).

Stills from "Tāwhaowhao" - a Māori word meaning driftwood or debris cast up on a beach. In 2016 we made a short drama film for the Native Slam project. Our team was Director Blackhorse Lowe (Navajo); Writer Himiona Grace (Ngāti Toa, Ngāti Raukawa and Te Āti Awa), Producer Sunna Nousuniemi (Sami) and Cinematography by myself, Mick Finn (Yuin).

Wehi art is a short documentary made by Mai Kapiti (Himiona Grace and Mick Finn) showcasing the work of Maori artist Alan Weihipiana.

Kani Kani Matsuri is a collaborative poster and digital media piece between Japanese sword-wielding performance band Hatenkohro, and Kuki Koori artist Mick Finn, to promote the upcoming gig. Hatenkohro's music was set to the timelapse recording of the gig poster creation. The name comes from a moment of synchronicity when we discovered that in Japanese kani means crab, and matsuri means festival, while Kani Kani translates to dance, or even dance celebration, in te reo Maori.
